player. He was born in 1964, Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He completed his
graduation from a Christian college, Indore. Girish started his music career at
the age of 14 by playing music with "Jhankaar and Chatterjee bros".
In 1985 he moved to Mumbai to reach
milestones of his dreams. He collaborated with 7 colors orchestra which made
him very popular in no time. He started recording music with well-known
directors such as Ram Laxman He has worked for so many famous movies like
"Aag ki Such", "Maine Pyar Kiya" and "Beta" etc.
His one of the well famous and biggest achievement was working for song
"Dhak Dhak Karne Laga" from movie "Beta". A musician with passion
has no boundaries and the same is proven by Girish.
He has been a part of the Bollywood
movies 'Hum Dill De Chuke Sanam' and 'Devdas' while working with very famous
Indian Bollywood film score composer, instrumentalist, violinist and music
director, a popular name in Indian Film Industry: Ismail Darbari. It won’t be
wrong to say that Girish always had an exclusive impact in his performance. And
that's still not all. From achieving one of the biggest stepping stone by
working with R.D Burman to making the original version of balam pichkari a
memorable one, he has been a gem to the Bollywood Industry.
He had this mesmerizing talent and
passion for music that He has been a support for a whole bunch of renowned
music directors for his unmatchable skill of playing Dholak. He has also worked
with the music team of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa since its very first show. He shares a
great bond with the production team of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa due to the talent and
passion he has for work. He is reaching new heights by being a part of the
world tours of legends like Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and much more to
come.
It won't be unfair to say that he
follows a totally different path of music and brings a lot of originality to
his performances. He has set some serious goals for the younger generations
hesitating to take up ethnic music as a career option by his unbeatable
techniques of playing Dholak. Being a Dholak Player, he is working below the
curtains and adding perfection to other’s work as well.
