CHHOTU SHARMA - A man who created unlimited
opportunities in the technical world
If four things are
followed - having a great aim, acquiring knowledge, hard work, and perseverance
- then anything can be achieved. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam

Chhotu hails from a very remote village in
Kangra District, Himachal Pradesh, where the best thing available for him to do
was graduation. However, he faced a reality check that his graduation degree
was not of much use without specialization. It led him to think about joining a
computer course, but the earning of his family did not allow him to do so. Still
very adamant about joining the course, he went to Chandigarh and took up a job
as a peon at a computer center. He used to devote his free time to learn
various computer technologies, sacrificing his sleep, and even sometimes his
hunger to save money. At that time, he also taught many students to make some
more money for his computer course. His struggle and hard work for two years
gave him a chance to buy a computer and bike. Finally, he became a Microsoft
Certified Software Developer and started teaching in the same computer
center where he was working as a peon.
Chhotu
Sharma always had a vision of sharing his knowledge and technical expertise
with the students. It was the same reason that he left his job as a trainer and
decided to start something of his own. He gradually began teaching students in
a two-bedroom flat in 2000 and then opened his own software training company 'CS
Infotech' in 2007. His training company soon rose to fame for providing
hands-on experience for every technology through live project training. The
success of this company helped him to establish another company 'CS Soft
Solutions Pvt. Ltd' in 2009. Many students of his Institutes have got placement
in the Fortune 500 companies. The one person who has always encouraged him is
his wife Shalini Sharma, the Managing director of CS Soft Solutions. Well-known
for her management skills and seven years of teaching experience in the IT
field, she has played a preeminent role in building both ventures from a
training center to companies with turnover in crores.
The
perseverance of Chhotu Sharma lends him the title of "Himachal
Gaurav" by then CM Sh. Prem Kumar Dhumal in 2007. Regarded as a 'Self
Made Entrepreneur' by Reader's Digest in 2013, he has been an active social
worker and awarded many times for his contribution to education and technology.
He is now supporting the education of many needy but deserving students from
his village. If we can have some more people like him, then we can fulfill the
vision of education for all.
